Should you be on every social media platform?
The quick answer to that question is no. The world of social media is hard to navigate. Not all networks are for everyone. According to the eBizMBA Guide, there are currently 15 social networking sites with over 30 million unique monthly visitors. Are all 30 million of those users your target market? Probably not.
1. Be present
When someone chooses to follow you on social media they want to hear from you. When you’re not posting regularly, your followers begin to question your business and can lead them to believe you’re disorganized. Considering that 46% of consumers turn to social media before making a purchasing decision, being present is important.
2. Aim to do one thing well
When developing your social media strategy, aim to do one thing well. Choose the social media platform that best suits your ideal customer. Each social platform has a unique demographic, and being present on all of them, may not be in your best interest. If you’re having trouble deciphering the different platforms and where you fit, give us a call. We can help!
3. Create a schedule and stick to it!
Take time out of your schedule every day to focus on your social media presence. Schedule posts and reply to comments and messages once a day. Don’t neglect the social aspect of social media. You don’t have to reply to every comment, but doing so will build a camaraderie with you and your customers.
